 SPRING 1999 ï VOLUME IV ï ISSUE 2
 "Let the Gamesters Begin"
Visitors to the decadent hot spots of Atlantic City or Vegas might've caught the stogie chicanery of the Gamesters, a comedic duo who meld vaudeville, magic, slapstick, and exploding cigars into a supercharged, highly entertaining performance.
The zoot-suited Gamesters are Seth Yudof and Douglas Leferovich, both 26-year-old performers based in L.A.  "It's 'Guys and Dolls' meets 'Dick Tracy' meets 'Roger Rabbit,'" says Yudof of their unique act.  "Like a cartoon brought to life."
The exploding cigar has become a fixture of their on-stage performance, while some more traditional sticks are part of their post-show routine.  "Once we've finished the show, after we've packed up all the equipment, we'll sit in the empty theater and spark up a celebratory cigar," relates Leferovich.  Arturo Fuentes and El Rey Del Mundos are the performers' preferences in the States, and Cuban Cohibas the choice when they're Gamestering overseas.
Seth and Doug, who've done their act at the Tropicana, Bally's and Harrah's, among other notable venues, are performing at Magicopolis in Santa Monica, preparing to take the act on tour.

"Zootable for Any Audience"
Douglas Leferovich and Seth Yudof serve up comical magic and mayhem as The Gamesters, a duo of zoot-suit wearing "comic-strip characters that literally come to life" on a set reminiscent of 1940s Times Square.  Honored in 1996 with the first Originality Award by the Society of American Magicians, Leferovich ("Lefty") and Yudof ("Sly") have taken their oversized props, slapstick humor and magic routines from Atlantic City to Lima , Peru, and Delhi, India.

...The highlight of the show for me was "The Gamesters," Doug Leferovich and Seth Yudof, a dynamic magical duo.  They are featured in a 10-minute comical vignette, a superb showcase for their magical shenanigans.  They pooled their talents to create a cartoon with zoot suits, magic, and vaudevillian-type sleight of hand moves.

"The Gamesters' fast-moving pantomimed act utilized humorous props and sound effects to provide a very funny, pleasant mixture of magic, comedy, and dexterously performed choreography that appealed to seniors as well as starry-eyed youngsters.  Brightly colored 'zoot suits' added to the zany 'cartoonish' persona of The Gamesters, known off-stage as Doug Leferovich and Seth Yudof."
- Whoot Magazine

"The Gamesters, Douglas Leferovich and Seth Yudof, present a classy comedy routine that combines skillful trickery with pantomime."
- New Jersey Suburban Express

"Their act reminds you of the old days of vaudeville-slapstick comedy at its best.  No words are spoken, but laughs abound at every move."
- Beachcomber News

"The Gamesters are a comedic team that does a combination of vaudevillian slapstick and magic.  Their light, imaginative performance brings a touch of whimsy to a really enjoyable evening."

 Plucky Gamesters Steal Show
 By John Berger

You've seen John Hirokawa's Magic of Polynesia.  Watched "The Magic of Les & Terri" over dinner at Legends in Concert.  You may have checked out the Showgirls of Magic during their brief engagement at Studio 1 Hawaii.  Now try Franz Harary.

Performing last night for the Shriners and their guests, Harary provided 90 minutes of entertainment.  The show was about equal parts illusions by Harary, monologues by Harary, and dance routines by women wearing tight shorts or one-piece swimsuits.  His co-stars, the Gamesters, stole the show in an all-too-short, 11-minute comic/magic
 segment.

Bravo, Gamesters!  The duo's fast-moving minishow is a delightful blend of illusions, slapstick, vaudevillian theater, and cartoon-style action.  The adventures of "Lefty" and "Sly" are G-rated in the best sense of the word - fast, funny and cartoonish enough that even preschool keiki [Hawaiian for children] won't be frightened.  Adults will find them thoroughly entertaining as well.  What a find for the Shriners!

ENTERTAINMENT - The Gamesters
A comic strip come to life best describes the dynamic magic marvel duo, The Gamesters.  Recipients of the Society of American Magicians Originality Award in 1996, Doug Leferovich and Seth Yudof excel in innovative, how-did-they-do-that magic.
The zany cartoonish-looking duo liken themselves to the characters of Guys and Dolls, instead of using music to carry their act, they use magic.  Their vaudeville interplay requires immaculate timing that is exciting and humorous.  Clad in bright colored "zoot suits" the comical vignette includes an intricate choreographed gigantic magic card version of the old street hustle game "three-card Monte."
Their colorful "slapstick act" recently shared the stage with internationally acclaimed illusionist, Franz Harary, in "Hypereality... Magic is About to Change" at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Stars on the rise, Leferovich and Yudof recently taped a segment for "Magical Science," a one-hour special premiering on the Discovery Channel.  Their magical shenanigans have also appeared on television in South America, Hawaii, Peru, and Las Vegas.
The comedy duo are both graduates from the University of Pennsylvania where they met pursuing a mutual interest in graphic design.
